what tests did you and the LFS do?

did you test ammonia and nitrite? or just nitrate?

usually, if the ammonia or nitrite is high, the fish will gasp for air because ammonia burns their gills and nitrite prevents them from taken in oxgyen.

actual dissolved oxgygen levels are seldom a problem in aquariums..it is usually in excess of what they need to thrive..

-I had done the 6 test "quick-strip strip test". LFS did the same test as me.

There is no amonia reading on these strips..... this is the results

Nitrate 10pmm
Nitrite 0pmm
Hardness 300 ********always very hard water here
Chlorine 0pmm
Alkalinity 300*********always very high
PH 8.4 ***********always high

The high readings have always been high with this water since the very beginning and i've never had this problem..........

Do not, under any circumstances, rise out the filter, you could do another WC...the best thing to do is add fresh carbon.

If the cleaners were in that night, likely they did/used something near of on the tank.

oK.......went to LFS, got an amonia tester..........my levels are "SAFE". I am currently doing a 50% WC. GUY at LFS said it was probably because i put my water too high after previous WC and not getting enough ripples in the water to get oxcegyn in the water. What about if it is a glass cleaner that was used last night by the cleaning crew. What can I do, other than clean the glass with water........to help. I am already loosing 2 little guys, they are laying on the bottom. I will put in the carbon also.

WCs and carbon, all you can do. If you have a canister filter, and you put the water way above the output, that's possible too

Well did the water change, added the carbon, left the water level right at the output spout everyone is happy again. I will have to figure out a way to get that water movement but with my water filled to the top as it doesn't look very nice like this. Any ideas?

Thanks again for your help..........everyone.

let me know if you ahve any ideas ;)
