I agree Mike keep them. I wonder if they are wild caught?

yeah i definitly will keep them... as far as wild caught, i dont know... i hope so.... :)

In My opinion .. Mono's are worth just as much as ANY of the Other Species...

And if they were as common in the hobby as Intermedia, Azul, And some other really expensive Cicha.. then the price woudl in my opinion actually be more than most :)

But the market is flooded with them so.. the price is lower and most think that they are not worth as much as the less common.. Which is WRONG :D

This si all strictly my opinion :) I love all Cichla!! :D

CICHLA!!

Couldn't say it any better myself. I would take my mono over an azul, intermedia or tem any day.

ohh definitly..... i feel the same way..... but in reality.. a hobbyist is a hobbyist... and as a hobbyist you look for something you really want to house or >>>>> + adding more mouths to the montly bill... cichla is the s@#*!!!! ,,, and all other species of bass... but always remember.... falling in love with cichla is..... SPACE!!!!!! more...... SPACE..... & more MONEY.......;)

When you think about it, the price of Piquiti, Pinima, Kelberi were all affordable when they were available. The price ranged from $50-$80.00 a piece @ 3-4"?

The crazy insane price was the Intermedia's...$250.00 each for 3-4".... but people still bought them. So, were they worth it? apparently so. It is the hobbyist who set's the price for the value of the fish.

I remember when I first bought my GATF? I paid $700.00  was it worth it...yea, I felt it was justified because no one had it available at the time. The GATF even came from Japan. freaking fish had more flier miles than me..LOL... from Japan to Germany to USA (new york) then to Cali =-)

Now people can't even sell one for less than $300.00?

Then, when I found out the true price they were really selling for? my stomach turned. I was even getting it from a middle man. But that's the way the hobby goes.

Price will always be a factor determined by basically supply and demand.

Look @ the many of the cell phones that come out. Initially
when the hottest phone comes out they are about $500.00 or so... give it a month later and it's free w/a plan...LOL

Basically simple as if it's too much don't buy, if you can afford than buy =-)

but, yea I love Monos also...hahaha... nothing wrong with the common Mono's

money is not the problem, its just space... when i started the thread i was really lookin for tems, that was the whole reason for the drive...its wild caught???? what??? im there...!! wiiiiiiiiii.... but watereverz, im happy with these guys... their very healthy and have personality!!! but it all boils down too SPACE & hopefully when i get more tanks = more CICHLA.... and i love the monos also... as far as other variants of species, its hard finding them out here and if i do... its always hit or miss.... BUT,,,, its just like i said its just space consuming... but more cichla the better... lol... thanx again guys for all the help and advice.... i really appreciate it.... ;)
this hobby is like CRaCK..... once you TRY... your hooked... :ROFL:lol...hahahahahaha.... LMAO!!
