I'd go with a 5 foot tank personally. Just don't forget that fish grow and beside the tank you have moving the fish to worry about. Another good choice are the 2x4 footprint tanks. The advantage is they tend to fit into more spaces and all of the 48" accessories...stands and lights...are common and easy to find.
