I'd almost leave the lid off the whole cure time. If it gets really humid it may inhibit full curing. With the water that low I doubt the fish can jump out, you could always put some egg crate or other perforated top for a day while it cures.

Hm good point guys, I'll leave it off then. I removed the wood as it had slipped down and was no longer supporting anymore, and I can't get it into a position that it does. It's touch dry and supporting a little at he moment it's own weight at least. 4 and a half hours so far...

I tried to silicone something when there was a lot of moisture and it was sill ozzy after 24 hours. Job well done, and nice tank, and chance I can see a pic of lighting you see in the first picture?

Moisture will only prolong the curing process in some silicones, depends on what sort it is. Condensation cure silicone will be inhibited by humidity/moisture in the air but addition cure silicone will not.

I don't know what type aquarium sealant is, but I'd guess that it's addition cure because it almost doesn't shrink at all when it cures. Condensation cure doesn't shrink very much, but it does shrink.

Hey there, what do you mean, you mean you want to see the blue leds on at night or the main tank lights? I have a thread in my signature with lots of pics, but if you want to see the blue LEDs I will take a night photo when I re-fill it.

Thanks everyone for your "support" ha ha. I had a look at the repair this morning. I was thinking of filling tonight, the fish don't like having only half the tank to swim around in. Also I tested the strut brace, just put a little pressure on it tried to twist it; it's solid as a rock, better than it ever was. I am impressed. Do you think I could get away with 24 hours then filling (ie tonight).

As long as the Silicon is fully solid you probably could. It depends how thick you put it on, the thicker it is the longer it takes to cure. If you can feel any soft Silicon at the bottom under the top cured layer I'd give it more time.
