Definitely do more water changes...getting that water clean is your main priority at the moment.

Have you tested the water?

you think the algae did that? My jar did fine in an algae bloom for like a week to a week and a half. I had to do a full water change which I wouldn't recommend but was insisted on to do. But it worked to clear after that. My jars healthy tho.

that really sucks man.

Go to a local Pet Smart and check out their meds. The boxes have pictures of different infections, parasites, etc. Find one that looks like that and dump it in the water. I'll warn you that it will cost a small fortune for enough meds to treat a large aquarium.

Whoa whoa whoa buddy, he still needs to diagnose the problem first. You try to use meds only if you really need to but if not you always try more natural remedies such as salt and W/Cs.

I'm not too sure whats wrong here I've never seen this before. It could possibly be caused by the antibiotics (but thats a slim chance) and I don't think just regular old algae would cause this much harm to any fish. Form what it sounds like your doing is the best thing you can do now till then all you can do is wait observe him closely and keep us updated at least daily.

i've seen this before on an aro.... crap i remember reading about it somewhere on aquaticpredators

crap, it luks like ur jar is developin the so called "lion head" disease. i have only seen jars have that kinda disease, but i have never read up on anythin about curin it. urs isn't that bad yet, so there mite be still chances that it'll make a full recovery.
don't realli know if it's a parasitic problem or bacterial...but definitely large amount of water change would help.
