Ok.. i need some ideas. I have two 55 gallon tanks that with UGF filter and HOB filters. I want to remove my UGF and go to sumps on both tanks. What i am worried about is A. removing the UGF while there are fish in the tank, and B. since there are HOB will there be a sufficient amount of bacteria left? any ideas on how to go about this would be greatly appreciated..Thanks!

ugf filters the benificial bacteria are on the gravel not so much the plastic filter part, There will most likely be a mini cycle while your hob material reacts to an increased load from the water not passing through the gravel, but I wouldnt worry about it. What are you keeping? As long as it's not something rediculously sensitive like discus, I wouldnt even worry about it.
