ok thanks he is still eating after the 5 day treatment how much longer should i keep him in the hospital tank?

On the bright side, at least he is still eating.
If you ask me, i would still leave him in there for another 3 days or so.

Just to be sure.

They should grow back, just keep the water clean and keep adding some salt to the water. It will probably take a week or 2.

ok thanks he is doing much better he doesnt have the peeling anymore and is eating...

Glad to hear that, I personally would leave the fish in the hospital tank for a week to a week and a half. This way it has a good amount of time to heal from it so that when you do move it back to the main tank it doesn't happen all over again.

Leaving him in the hospital tank will also give you more time to monitor the main tank to make sure there's no outbreak of anything there. Keep both tanks really clean and stay on top of your water changes. I'd give him at least another week in quarantine. Do not add him back to the main tank until his fins have grown back and you're sure he's completely healed.
