That looks more complicated than my
Boiler. My official advice is call a professional.

Good luck.

I recommend contacting a plumbing/heating contractor in your area that can advise you on repairs, especially since you stated the equipment is very old. It is possible that they can repair the problem but it is also possible they will need to replace it if they can't find compatible parts.

When it comes to natural gas fired appliances, I usually leave repairs to the experts.

You could also try and find the manual by searching for the manufacturer using the model and serial number of the appliance to at least get an idea of the parts that make up the boiler.

Thank you very much, decided to change new machine.

Were you able to determine what the problem was with the original equipment or did you just decide to install new due to the age of the old boiler?

I hate to say it, but in my opinion, if you don't know what a part is called, you're not qualified to replace it.

Call a professional.

I disagree, that's not even true in general terms

if you have the right tools, you can replace almost anything, no matter what that thingamajigger is. getting the right part is what matters more.

Unless that part isn't the problem. And when dealing with gas + 120-240volts I would definitely suggest a mechanically inclined person doing the work. Not only for the op's safety but his family and property.

Seeing how old that system is does it even have a regulator, my guess would be its stoneage and even if the valve is closed is it sealed.

Op glad you upgraded. You'll probably save enough money on bills in the first couple years to pay for it!
