and also i think my tank is re cycling as you sed...all my algee seemd lik it died off and is starting over for some odd reason!!

ok that is really weird its like the whole tank its starting all over again ok true story....

when i was little i saw my dad do a water change so then i htought about two weeks later i think i know how so i will....it happens to be that i did a 98percent water change out of a thirty then when i added the ph stuff to it it was very cloudy(milky white) it can be because of the ph stuff did you add any???? if so it will go away but non of my fish died so this is really a tough one! i will ask my friend. (he is an expert) and well see what he says!

If you replaced the filter media, the tank lost most bacteria, and it takes time to gain that back. So, I am guessing the tank is recycling to gain back those essential bacteria for the fish to have proper health, and slime coats.

so your saying that the tank lost most of its bbs??

Tank most likely lost all of the bacteria in the tank because once that newer water goes into cycle, it kills off the bacteria in the water and gravel, then it must regenerate all of that. I say no water changes, and it should change soon. Make sure you always clean the filter media in a bucket of the fish tank water so no more of that is killed off.:D

thanks guys...i havent done a water change in 5 days and so far its the same....im keepin my fingers crossd!!!

definitely sounds like a minicycle, this is why its good to stuff extra media in your filter area, so that you don't take it all out at once if you have to replace something. Your water parameters will tell you whether you should be doing water changes, so test your water. ideally you want to be at 0 ammonia 0 nitrites and <20 nitrates, but slightly elevated levels of ammonia are kind of inescapable during the cycling process.

take a look at building an algee truff scrubber is easy to make cheap to build and it really works just search under algee in MFK,

Hi there. I'm Theresa from the Philippines. I need help with my FH. I think it ate something that did not agree with him. Suddenly he was swimming upside down. So i restricted his space to keep him upright. He was not eating. First I thought that he probably hit his head and was just dazed but after three days his bottom area where he excretes became swollen, red, and was decaying. So i placed some penicillin tablet which I powderized. It healed his wound. AAnd he was able to potty. But now he cant seem to keep his balance. So i still keep him contained. I have limited resources. I dont know how to check the water acidity. Please help me. I am worried for my baby fish.
