Thanks for all the ideas everyone but i think im gonna stay away from cichlids with this tank. The Bucktoothed tetra sounds good . Any others ?

I think A. modestus (bronze or avacado puffer) would be a good choice. They get 4-5" have a more SW puffer look to them then most other FW puffers. Are completely fresh and MEAN! One could house a single puffer in a 10gallon for a long time if not life.

The one I had I regret getting rid of. One of the coolest fish with most personality!

this is not a joke I had wild guppies/moisqueto fish and they had small teeth they shredded the fins on a betta and picked on a crawdad
