It's a rtcxtsn not a spotted leopard cat. RTC are known to shed their skin if water conditions are bad. It dosent necessarily mean ammonia burn it just means that there is something about your water that he isn't comfortable with. Try doing waterchanges. This happens sometimes with RTC it's nothing to really worry about too badly. Just do some water changes.

I saw a video on here a few weeks ago, somebody posted of their catfish shedding its skin. They said it was totally normal, happened every couple weeks or so. Looked pretty bad, but they said lots a catfish do it. looked like sheets of cloudy slime coming off, catfish was shaking it off, like a dog.
