So weird, lol. I have a grammode that doesn't even hide like that, lol. And he's only 4".

That's another frustration of mine. I see videos of small males trying to rip your finger off through the glass. I forgot to mention that in the rock pile on the left there is a common pleco, crawdad, and male convict. All things I've put in for him to "play" with, but he could care less.

Bet you one thing will get him fired up more than anything else, add a girl. Lol.

Funny story actually. For awhile I had a female Hoffa cichlid in that 50g. It was divided and he danced up a storm for her. When it looked like something might happen I took the divider out. After a few days his part of the tank was in the left corner up near the surface pinned behind a plant. If he moved she was on him to pluck off another scale.

Seems like he's a wolf who's lost his teeth, lol.

I removed all the rocks from my tank too. So he had no hiding spots at all. He still picked a corner to hide in but once he hit 10-11 inches he came out of his shell

mine 7inch and he's pretty confident tbh, never hides but he was added to my female so maybe that has something to do with it?

Talk about hen pecked :D

Toss in a female convict. Little sluts will get him out of his shell. (like any other teenager). Maybe let him kill a few goldfish? Anything to make him realize he's the baddest dude in town.

Hahaha that is too funny. I'll try the female convict but the last time I gave him goldfish, he developed ich. I think I might start looking for a female. I would love to find a wild caught

I'm never buying a dovii under 12in again. I've put every dither in the book, other larger fish, ANYTHING to get some movement out of him. I wake up in the morning and EVERYTHING is dead and he's right back in his corner, black and pathetic looking. I've never had a fish act like this for so long. I'm over it. I'm one fed up dovii owner.
