I need stocking help!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ok drained my tank, got the africans out, got all the rocks out.

Now I have my large piece of malaysian driftwood in and would like suggestions on how to arrange it.
It is a pretty tight fit and I would prefer not to split it into 2 pieces but I will
if I need to.

How does this look??

I say try moving it to one side or the other then take the river rocks and plants and really get creative with those. Just so you get more swimming room and your tank isn't split in two by the driftwood.

Also I just went hunting today for large round rock and I found a ton of nicely shapen rocks in my local creek. I have some in my african tank and some in my rainbow cichlid tank and they love the alge that I left on there.

Just a thought.:)

i like the fist pic

but dlp40 has a point about the tank being cut in half... (i have the same problem in my tank) the fish can and do go around the drift wood but not as easily as they would if it were to one side.

I see your point.

It's easier to see it in person but there is about 8-9" of space between the upright limb and the front of the tankand also the back of the tank and then about 10-12" to top of tank and limb on left.

If I were to move it.......left or right??

ok now that it is settled about the wood let's get back to the Uaru.

how long will it take for them to outgrow my tank or will i be able to house them in it for life?

You've got 3 right? Tank will be more than fine for life.

Ok. Wood is in, rocks are in, pleco is in, went ahead and put a few giant danios in, oh yeah tank is cycled.
Now 1 week until the sale and I get my Uaru!

Here is a new pic with everything in. Any comments or suggestions?
