I can not wait to catch and kill some Snakehead on the Potomac. I fish it all the time for bass.

They sure have infested the Potomac, thankfully they have not been able to make it up into the Shenandoah as of yet. Dont know if Great Falls are holding them back or not, but considering they can survive on land for a few days, and they have been found in numerous other watersheds I only think it is a matter of time.

I have been wondering if maybe a disease could have been introduced from people letting exotics go which may be contributing to the continuing fishkill on the Shenandoah, makes you think.

argus - the species found in the potomac , never leaves the water of it own desicion it is not capable of doing so , it never moves from pond to pond , like some of the smaller species , it could if placed on land wiggle its way back to water if kept moist enough. or if it got relotated due to flooding ect. it could make a short journy back to water , but no more than say a eel or birchir or bowfin
but the stories of argus going from pond to pond eating everything is just another media sensation , something that some of the smaller snakeheads are capable of ,and just tagged onto argus and micropeltis for extra sensation. sadly this is one of the incorrect facts that law makers listened to when makeing there desision to ban them.

looks like rocky :D
