Ive seen the ends of fins cut off to make them grow back perfectly in some cases,
I wouldnt suggest doing this unless you know what you are doing though,,
Is it really a big issue?
Does it look that bad?
I'm sure it wont worry your FH

yes bro its not that reasonable to cut it off, nope its not the really big but most of the people saw my flowerhorn asking me why he have it, its really noticeable in the closely look.

Could it be a deformity? 1 month is a long time & any small cuts should have healed now..

yup maybe its a deformity.

here's a video that focus on the said issue, just take a look on the part of pointed damage you will see it ( the hole)

Ah yeah I saw it.. it's really strange coz injuries like that usually heal up quite fast.. Do you have any other fish in with it(aside from the other fh)?
Or you can try removing any ornaments that have a sharp end to see it that helps.. perhaps it constantly got hurt at the same spot(the anal fin) from that..
Aside from that, it's still a nice looking fh.. :)

That's strange I would have thought it would have been healed up by now but apparently not. Don't worry about it your fish will be fine. if not you could probably take a pair of scissors to his bottom fin and chunk off the bad part and it should heal back normal. I wouldn't do that though I would just let nature take it's course.

no bro, nothing more other than a pleco, but my fh has already that before mybrother put his pleco to my tank after his flowerhorn got whitespot.. nope i dont have any sharp ornaments to remove inside bro. i think the only thing that i can do is to wait till he got old.

its almost one month now and the hole is still isn't heal, i observed that while the fish is growing then the hole is also growing too :(

I don't think it will heal, I have had plenty of fish with a whole in their fin that doesn't heal, and it wasn't caused by anything, just the way they grew. I would just leave it and enjoy the fish.;)

Ooh! Sad to hear that it wont heal, coz its effect to their Attraction. I guess your right mate, i also think it wasn't caused by anything or else, i think this fish has already have it after he hatched from egg, and i didn't notice it on that time i bought it because his too tiny on that time and the hole is so tiny too.

since you said you had a lot of the same issue and you experiencing that its never healed up, i been thinking now is to follow their suggestion to cut that part, i hope i can make it perfectly.
