I Officially Hate My Oscar

So I got my Oscar when he was a baby, only 3" and have raised him to be over 9" in about 6 months. He had 3 tankmates, a big CL, a 3.5" frontosa and a 3.5" GT. They have been in there for 3 months, since the O was 5". The other day, I noticed a small welt on my GT's head, so I Melafixed the tank, and fed as normal. Today I woke up and fed, and everything was fine. I went to work, came back, and my frontosa was dead and my GT looked like CRAP. He was all beat up and stuff. I was so upset. The frontosa had no real body damage, and when I found him his slime coat was being eaten by my rhino pleco. The oscar caused the fight. He is also developing popeye, where he turned his eyes so far during my water changes one is literally pulling muscle with it, causing a lump. Why does everything have to go wrong at once?

I miss my frontosa already.

That blows man!! Are you positive the Front died in a fight?
 
No, I assumed from the beat up tankmate that it was. He has been doing fine for 3 months, so I just don't understand. I really hope my new Jur doesn't die. If he does, I may have to give up on fishkeeping for a while.
 
It coulda been a med prob then.. I usually add salt and turn up the heat for a day or two and if things don't start to go away then i look for more symptoms and then medicate with store meds.. Not that i'm smart but it works for me. Also what tank do you have them in?

Personal opinion is that if the Front was dead with no abrasions or signs of a fight , he probably didn't get in one.. Well i haven't seen a fish die from a fight without markings as well, It could be possible though..
 
They are in my 55g right now. I have to wait another month until I can move into my house to set up the 125 I bought for them.

Well that's when the fun will begin!! :) I had the same stuff the past few months, my fish in a 55 waiting to move into my new house to get in their 150.. And i love it..!
 
The front shouldn't have been there to begin with, it was only a matter of time.
 
There was no where else for him to go. He was fine for so long, and I already have my new tank, its just waiting to be set up. Thats the worst part about it.
