BDawg364,

Sorry about your loss. If you are in Alpharetta, Georgia, then I might be able to sooth your pain by hooking you up with some festaes :) .

I am growing out about 40 half inchers right now. These are true red terrors or festaes. I am also in Alpharetta. I also have a 5" female festae that is gorgeous that I might be convinced to sell. I am even contemplating selling my large 9" male GT to have a house full of festaes :headbang2 .

Oscars are cool at first, but there are so many cooler large cichlids out there which aren't half as messy.

Once you have the 125 setup, then let me know.

Oscars can piss you off mine ate 2 silver dollars and knocked the eye out of a 3rd.ate 1/3 of my pictus but hes still alive. He now shares his tank with 3 deformed guppies and an afra with a weird dorsal fin defect because those he doesnt want to eat.:swear:

quattroatl,

what other cooler larger cichlids would you recommend? i just bought a 95 gal and am thinking about oscars, jack dempseys and or green terrors.

Thanks for the info.....well, what I could make of it. Hope you have a big tank.....that shovelnose is gonna be a MONSTER.

Nope, I bought him from straight freshwater (where he had been for over a month) and kept him in the same type of water. He was in my tank for like 3 months, I think if the water was bad he would have died a lot sooner.

****Update: I found 4 baby Frontosas yesterday, labeled as ruby red peacock cichlids......$9 a piece, I bought all of them.
