It's the tank's background. If the backgrounds are light they will appear yellowish gold. If it's dark, they will turn abit more copper.
 
Huh.. i didnt know that..

So if i want it to be golden its whole life..i need a more lighter tank? with no background?
 
yup 27 bucks is a steal one pet store in my area had a 2in one for 54 bucks....yup howz the crack

OH btw.. the store i got it from is in Rosemead California, call Garvey Fish and aquarium.. something like that..

Try barging with the lady.. i recommend smaller fish.. (i got a betta out of her, she charges bettas for 3 bucks)

When i got it last week.. there were about 4-5 left..
