Give the Fly River Turtle ( that is the name of your turtle ) a big tank. It likes hard, alkaline water ( same as , say, a Malawi or Tanganyica tank ).

Give it a varied diet, apples, Pleco pellets, kiwi, some shrimp, now and then.

Keep us posted.

You still need to learn to read, because you obviously didn't before you posted your comment....

Great deal on the turtle, let's see some more pics :)

they come from northern austrailia and neighboring islands
for a 1' frt a couple thousand would be the average price

yeah but some tanks have most of the salt water preferred filtration already built in right? So it may be more considered a salt tank.I got a friend who used one of those for his Malawi set up,pretty sweet.

Salt water preferred filtration is live rock and powerheads. ;)

I have a 58gal Oceanic tank that the manufacturer intended for salt water, possibly because of its dimensions.

It is used with freshwater.

I understand.

This is like a derail train wreck...but SW is no different from FW when it comes to dimensions. There will always be fish/inverts that compliment certain dimensions.
SW specific products are protein skimmers, refugiums, and maybe lighting. But even then, its only SW if it has salt water. You can still use all that stuff in FW its just not going to serve any purpose. A tank its self is either glass/silicone/plastic or acrylic. I could use a tank previously used for reptiles, but i wouldn't call it a reptile tank if it has fish in it.
