I really need a quick answer (substrate)

crushed coral is a really good substrate...

Well I can still redo it now...
I can't use mud but I have medium fine sand and small crushed coral.

How should I fashion them? One of them exclusively or both? How deep? I don't wanna do a dsb but I mainly want to use the five for macroalgae, while making as optmal use of the substrate as possible.

the CC can go on the bottom, and then a sheet of mash to keep the sand on top can be used, this will prevent the CC from being a detritus trap, which is what makes it a not so great substrate in my point of view. Pods will form and setup camps, wherever fish cant get at them. I take a small plastic cup, with 3/8 inch holes cut in it and place it rim side down, and all them to house in that, they will mass produce out of that.

:iagree:

Aite, so I should get a styrofoam or plastic cup, put some holes in it, fill it with gravel/a coarse sponge and let pods multiply in that?
