so for the past week or so i have benn watchling a robins nest, when i first looked, there were two pink little birdies and a litle blue egg. they grew and today, walking up to he nest, one of the baby birds jumped out! he crawled like 50 ft till i mangaed to gently pick him up and bring him back to he nest. he was obviously not nready to leave the nest. the parents however always yap at me when ever i come within 20 feet of the nest. today, boy were they pissed!!!!! i ended up bringing it back to the nest with the other 2 birds and left them safe and sound:) and i know everybodys gonna be upset cause i shouldn't have interfered. but seriously, he was crawling like some guy just got his legs ripped off. he looked so helpless and stranded in our yard. i had to do something:)

I would be upset if you hadn't done anything. Nothing wrong helping the little guy out, good save

Totally good save! Congrats I had a bird fall out from a pretty tall tree, bout 30 feet, and onto the parking lot at our friends apartment. He was feathered, but couldn't fly. I didn't know how to get it back in the tree up so high, so I made a grass nest and put him under the tree.
Unfortunately at our complex, a nest of birds fell into our bush from the second story dryer duct, and I thought they would be safe there, as a friend was doing the same on the other side of the building. I was wrong. They were dead the next day. Not sure if something got the two I couldn't find, but one was attacked by ants :(

You either saved it or killed all of the young. Interfering with birds is never really a good idea considering they have a tendency to abandon their babies. Maybee the mother threw it out of the nest for a reason.
I understand your concern for helping a defensless animal, but in this case you could have killed 2 other babies. You should have nursed him yourself if you wanted to invertvene.

the mother was in a tree when he fell out. and i beleive he just fell by accident. one minute he was loking around poking his head out of the nest, the next he was falling head first to the ground. if the mother wanted to leave, she would have already done it. this was 4 hours ago. she is still guarding the nest like she has been ever since i first saw them. i have even left little dead minnows by the nest and watched the mommy bird eat them and feed them to the babys
