Try not to dawn on it man. I had a simpler experiance at my daughters dance recital years ago. An older woman was hit by a car and it rolled over her and a bunch of us tried to lift the car to get her out from underneath. Unfortunately she died and little girls were crying leaving the dance ricital. That was hard to forget. Good luck with it.

Ironic....I am a FF in Atlantic City and we had a very similar call on the AC Expressway yesterday. However, the car didnt go up until the driver was removed. Which we had to remove him because he was unconcious. Our calls to accidents on the expressway have tripled over the last 3 years. I personally believe it's because people are texting while driving. Sorry you had to see that. Unfortunately, those of us who do this for a living tend to lose their ability to be compassionate about it. I find I get angry as opposed to being busted up about it. If kids are involved I definitely get a little whacked in the head for awhile. I have a few scenes that I carry with me and have for quite a few years now. PLEASE DONT TEXT AND DRIVE!!!!!!! By the way krichardson, where in philly are you?

Sorry for that I guess....Fatboy8 if you come across this thread maybe you heard something about it.

It's real ironic that I did come across this. It was on the schuylkill right? I'm almost certain it was a fatal accident. This is something that I haven't run into much although last February I had two within a week of accidents with the car becoming fully involved. Both of them lucky we pulled up stretched the line and knocked the fire back giving us access to the patient which we managed to pull both of them out with minor burns. Like I said its uncommon for this to happen but it does happen. Now a tow truck not having an extinguisher on it is very fishy and it beating the first responders. It must of been passing by I couldn't tell you how many accidents I've waited for tow trucks on. I do believe it's mandatory for them to carry a fire extinguisher. But in your case where the driver was heavily pinned and the car starting to really burn there's not much to do but try to knock the fire then get spreaders and pop the door. Defiantly not a pretty sight seeing a loss of life and it's a shame people have to see it.

krichardson , i had a similar experience a while back, I can relate. I witnessed a head on collision on the freeway with both Cars doing at least 70. Long sorry short the end result want pretty. My friend and i were the first people on the scene, first to call 911, had to fill out witness reports, and a year or so later even got called to court as witnesses. Still to this day i can picture everything i saw, everything that happened. It'll probably always stick with you, sucky thing to have to see....
