I setup a new Jellyfish tank.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
im thinkin you are gonna get a big blob in the corner. moon jellies get big you know? like a good foot across. upsiedown jellies can be placed in rectangle tanks but other than this ive yet to see.

I will be collecting my moon jellies from the ocean so I will be able to choose what sizes I like, They live for few years and it take a couple years before they reach any where near the one foot mark, Also when they do get too big for my system I can just return them to the ocean and get some new ones. The upside down jelly requires more work than the moon jelly since they are much more sensitive and need very strong light to survive where moon jellies don't need any light.

Well the diet of a jellyfish ranges from species to species but the particular species I will be keeping (moon jellies) eat plankton and do very well on newly hatched baby brine shrimp. Some jellies are photosythic and need very strong light to survive since they make their food inside their bodies.

P.S. Did you know that the Portiguees man of war isn't a jellyfish? It's actually made up of multiple animals and not just one.

yeah i forgot about how the upsidedown jellies harvest algae and all. gl with the moon jellies. we used to feed cyclopsies to the jelly fish at mote.

Thats a very kind offer shark guy but I have found out that the moon jellies are the easiest to care for so I better start with them first but thanks for the offer just the same.
