I setup a new Jellyfish tank.

Your set up for this is quite unique. It seems like it will work but you never know untill you try i guess. If you do end up keeping moon jellies and feed them brine, make SURE you keep up on your cleaning/ syphoning. If you leave un eating brine in the tank for to long they will cling to the sides and become hydoroits, (sp), they can/ will dismember you jellies. If I feel motivated I will bring a camera with me to my internship and take a few pics of their setups on their jelly tanks. Have fun with the jellies though.

not to derail but another iowa member nice where from in iowa
 
My upside-down Jellies are getting the same care as my corals, and they are growing. I would have to say that they are just as easy to care for as polyp corals. I tried posting pictures but they were to big, I will try to reduce the size and attempt to post again. Good luck with the Moon Jellies.

they dont

its not gunna work

i guarentee it

they need cylinder tanks with slight circulation gonig in one direction, they will smash themsleves against the 90 degree tank wall and get stuck in the corner.

that spray bar is gunna mess them up when they get close enough

aeration of any kind will tear them apart, they are very fragile invertabrates.

bubbles will make holes in them.

also they need a chiller, they dont tolerate cool or warm water.

Note true, if you set it up right it can be done. I have seen it many times before. I'm not to sure how well this set up will work, but you can keep moon jellies in a rectangular tank. But you are right about the chiller, moon jellies need the temp. to be at about 54 degrees.

Well as of right now there are two moon jellies floating around in my tank. So delgado, how well do you stand by your guarentee???????. I collected them and a hole crap load of snails for my shark tank as well.

So yes you can keep jellyfish in a tank like I designed. They are also eating the baby brine shrimp I put in for them as well.

Stay tuned for some photos within the next week or so since I have to remember to pick up some batteries for my camera.

Now i'm going to experiement with the lighting to see how cool I can make it look. :woot:
