  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
honestly id just put chicken fencing over the pond and have 2x4 pieces of wood to hold it down but it would be good idea to maybe get a decoration to show oh theres already a bird here aka a fake heron..but you could just use a pellet gun to as long as your following laws i cant stress that enough..

What type of Heron?

If I had to choose between a protected, endangered bird or a fancy goldfish, I would choose the Heron.
agreed
Even if it's not protected near you (for whatever reason) the fact that it's protected nearly everywhere else should tell you that killing it would not be morally right .
Just cause theres no law against it dosen't make it OK. Especialy when it's illegal everywhere else

Anyway good luck.

If it is a choice between a $300 koi and Big Bird, I know what I would do.

haha agreed, when you start investing big money in your fish, it only takes a few free meals b4 you start to loose your 'awww how pretty' appeal towards big bird..:irked:

If you're prepared to sit there with an air gun and wait why not use a less lethal method such as a fire work such as a fire cracker ,ok so you may upset the neighbors but you wont need to do it more than a couple of times

I don't think HE kiled them, he said due to the rain his normal deterrent isn't out there.. I'm guessing a dog, which if his dogs killed them he can explain that with ease.

One maybe two is a pattern. I had a problem with Big Gulls pooping on the roof of my house and on my car. I live adjacent to a pond so when the ducks or geese are on the gulls perch on the neighboring houses until they leave. One day I got tired of having poop all over my roof and broke out my Tippmann A5. I tool about five shoots at the gulls on my roof. I didn't hit any but the impact of the paintballs against my roof and the report of the marker scared them off. Now the Gulls perch on my neighbors house not mine. Only have to go out to do this once a year in September. Teh Gulls know not to perch on my house. Goodluck. If they are Blue Heron they are protected species. Get some deer net and you should be golden. Try to keep your dog from killing anymore you may have a neighbor who decides to notify DNR. Which will cost you greatly.

I assume you used clear training paintballs, right?
