I have 2 peices of acrylic left over from my tank me and my dad built and i was gona make a smaller tank out of the peices.

The measurements are rougly this:

1.) 37" by 27"
2.) 40" by 28"

The tank is going to hold my sponges, it will have a hole drilled in the side where a pvc pipe will be. The water will flow from the pvc pipe (sponge side of the w/d) all the way to a bin where i will have a pump pushing the water into the tank.

All help would be very appreciated.

dont quite know what you're asking. Are you asking how you can make a tank out of those two left over pieces of acylic?

im 99.08% sure thats what he is asking

i think hes asking what size he should make and how he should cut the the 2 peices he has left.

I'm asking what would be the largest tank i could make out of these left over peices :) sry for the confusion

you're not gonna make a very big sump out of those left over acrylic. approx 20 Gallon (24x15x12) tank would need approx 1242 square inches of acrylic. You have 2119 square inches of acrylic. So you're looking at sump thats approx. 35 gallons. 35 gallon sump for a 300+ something gallon tank is not nearly enough. Plus you're gonna have to some how cut those 2 pieces of acrylic into 5 pieces

Did a few more calculations for you for you. You could make a 40g sump 36*18*16 that would need 2160 square inches of acrylic you have 2119. So you could shave a couple of inches of each so many 35 * 15 * 12

Its only part of my sump, 1 side of the acrylic tank that im gona make is going to have an 2" hole cut into it witha peice of pvc leading into a tub that holds 70g of water
