I have a super pair of wild caught Umbees that are currently growing out (and spawning) in a 135 gallon tank. They will be re introduced into the 1,000 this spring.

Good mel, I can't wait to see them :) Just gorgeous cichlids :)

Yet another great video from Mel! I like all of the cichlids featured in this video but I really like the Chancho and the Lyonsi. I've always found it interesting how you can keep such large, aggressive cichlids with minimal problems. I know that the large aquariums help in that regard but it shows more about your knowledge and ability to care for them. Keep posting!

Great video! Crazy how a 1000g tank can make huge fish look average size. It's nice to hear how to pronounce their scientific names lol. I've been butchering them since I found this site hahaha

My Male and Female Lyonsi look identical to your Lyonsi Pair. I love the way they look!

I've been interested in Chancho's lately and I was wondering how long it took your Chancho to hit 16"?
Also what was his growth rate?

Can't wait for more videos

Just wow, I have to agree with everyone else and say that those Lyonsi are massive but still beautiful, and the Chancho is an absolute tank. Incredible work Mel.

Fantastic tank & Thanks for sharing it! Love your fish! It is quite the collection! Keep up the good work and please keep sharing your work.

Thank God For your lousy photo skills!

Great video Mel, i love it when people talk during video's and update you as the video goes on. Those are some Monsterous cichlids!
