My big O has been looking a bit worse for wear recently. He stopped eating about a week ago, and seems to just linger in one corner. He's now floating around near the surface, still breathing... But not looking good.

Anyone got any ideas on how to save him? Or is it just his time to go? I've done multiple water changes although my parameters were good to start with. :(

I've added salt, he's only been in this tank for about 2-3 weeks. Only real changes are tank size, he went from a 7' to a 5' and tank mates where he is now alone due to the smaller tank

Has he been acting fine or strange from the beginning? Oscars are real moody. Sudden changes can make them droopy and mopey for a while. But they bounce back.

He did his usual sucking up and spitting out food for the first day after being moved but then went back to his usual self ( begging for food and eating like a pig ). I've had him for years and this isn't the first time he's been moved. Sounds ridiculous but do you think there is any chance it could be missing the old tank mates?

It could be that he misses his old tank mates. My male Jack Dempsey had a lady friend JD that was with him for about 4 months but they refused to spawn so I gave her to a friend. He got super depressed and now he sits in a corner all the time unless its feeding time or another fish gets too close. I rearranged the tank and changed out decorations and he still finds a corner and sits in it. He used to swim around constantly with his woman. I felt bad so I got him a new one (hopefully she works out). Oscars are probably way smarter than JD so I think it could be part of the problem.
