I think he's dying :(

Well, I picked up a 4 inch blue acara. Since adding it to the tank the O has started to swim around a little. Still wont take any food but hopefully he picks up from here. Ill just have to play the waiting game now..

You can't move him back to his 7' tank with all of his old tank mates? I'd give it a try since he looks healthy and I'd say it's likely not disease.

I'd say he's just sulking and being grumpy. Give him some dithers/tank mates to keep him company if you can't move him back to his old tank.

Last time I moved my Hait, it took him about 3-4 weeks before he stopped sulking. He didn't eat and just sat at the bottom sulking for a long time. But he got over it eventually.

Also, how old is your oscar? If he's not over 10 years old, I'd say he's just being grumbly.

One other question: How established is the tank you just put him in? Is this a brand new tank?

He's about 13inches, 3-4 years old possibly older. The 7' sprung a leak and is now sold. I'm using the sump and media from the old tank on the new. ( it's a brand new tank )

it might be a minor internal parasite, salt should fix that up.

I don't really know what could be the problem, but it sure is sad to see. I love oscars they have so much character.
