I made a stupid mistake and when I built my overflow I used a "T" adapter that went from the 1" I was using for the rest of the overflow, to a 3/4" output. Will that really screw me up? I can always swap it out, but it is already glued so if I can leave it be I would like to.

So to make it more clear, if you look at the diagram in the sticky, all my pipe is 1", but the outflow on "F" is 3/4, I then used another adapter and the pipe going into the sump is back to 1". So the 3/4" is only about 2" of total length in the pipe.

For reference, I have a 75 gallon tank, and an 18 gallon plastic container being used as a sump

That will depend entirely on the pump used.

I'd test it, the most restriction is on the output where the greatest pressure will be...

Might be fine.

You will be limited to the smallest sized pipe you use. So you would only get what 3/4" flows so if you could swap it I would.

That is what I thought. I am pretty sure I am going to swap it out. The tank isn't even up and running yet, so swaping it out now is much easier than in the future

As said it depends on what flow you need and the pump size etc, yep could work but if its easyer to do it now then i would, always better to be a litle bigger in this case IMO.

After all its only 2 cuts and new section, 2 min job.

So how do you know that a one incher, all the way through, will work?

I meant the tank isn't setup in the room it will finally go in. I have it filled in my basement. I changed the pipe out and tested it, and it seems to work fine now.

Cool. Glad it worked.

I still reckon it would have been fine with a 3/4 outflow under pressure...
