I think I got screwed - Critter Cage?

That ain't bad, should be 6mm glass for holding water, sounds like a 40b. Which petco/petsmart has the 1$ per gal sale on those atm. A 100 should be 48"x26"x18"

We all learn this lesson at some point, just tell the lady you needed it for aquarium and didn't realize, and that you will drive all the way back.

Sorry Bro

So I got curious and ran the measurements through a gallon calculation tool. It's only 50 gallons!! I seriously got hosed!

What is the proper thickness of a 50 gallon aquarium's glass? Can 3/16" thick glass withstand the pressure of 50 gallons of water? The silicone is in fantastic shape on the tank, so I don't think sealing would be an issue, but I was to see what the advice is now that the volume has changed from what I thought it was. Any ideas?

The depth and height not gallons determine glass thickness. Height, depth and length are the determining factors for safety ratings. 6mm is your min and that's a safety rating of 2.5x the pressure it can technically handle, that's 1/4", as long as silicone isnt dry and cracked.

So are you saying that the 50 gallon tank I have can technically handle being full?

if you decide to fill it with water, I hope you have a big shop vac handy... use it for what it was designed for..
