i would have to say yes after seeing this wonderful gorgeous special set up too... may be because it looks so balanced... alot of different levels of fish too.. what ever it is as long as it works .. i never say no.. just have my doubts..until it is proven... this looks perfect.. everyone looks great.

My 18 inch silver has been living with a Jack Dempsey, Exasperatus cichlid,Firemouth, and several Striped convicts some with fry and no problems for about a year.

what kind of filtration you have on that tank? it looks really clear.
so funny .. your Arow acts just as aggressive eating as the african cichlids.. he thinks he is one of them or became aggressive with eating as they are.. never saw one eat so fast... haha.. i quess alot of things work out that we never know until we try.. ...

Is this a front cichlid? It's one lucky fish. I put it in my tank about 4 months ago as a tiny feeder. It's crafty, it's eaten that much my RTG can't get it in it's mouth. I also have a big Parrot fish wich are a kind of Cichlid aren't they?
That's a greedy pig and offten fights with the aro but it just gets bitten.
It's that fat it can't swim properly!!

not a frontosa cichlid..front cichlids are white with black stripes and blue fins.. looks like a very pretty african cichlid.. thats why i was so surprised to see the arow in the other video eating as aggressively as the cichlids.. haha... yours is just normal laid back arow..and thats why the cichlids are chubby..

i had a hard time getting the guy off live foods, tossing him in with the cichlids to learn to be competitive and not picky was the only way i could think of, and it worked. i'd much rather have an aggressive arowana than a dead one.

but he's like that. i had him by himself for a little and it just kinda hid in the corner. then he was with 3 red-fin tinfoils and he schooled with them. then with the cichlids and he became more social. he dominates the upper tank but doesn't attack anyone...although he seems to really hate flagtails.

my jardini eats just as fast, he sometimes jumps into the glass top before i even open it to drop food in. i gotta time it or he might jump out accidentally.

As you can see there are many sitsuations where people have kept silvers with africans. Water parameters can be adjusted to a range that both fish can adapt to.

The tank layout sitll has to be in favor of the arowana. So a large tank with wide open areas for swimming. Depending on the size of african cichlids you may need to consider whether they are a risk of becomming diner.
