NOOOOOOOO not by a long shot man i got the thumbs up from the parents and im moving my 100 gallon to they're house so that means i can get a 150 and get my dovii or ill wait till i get my grammodes pair...oh btw i am going fishing for the wild grammodes hopefully this summer as my late birthday pressent...not really a matter of "if im going" as to "when im going"

Baby rhoms are fragile. But should be fine.

You can feed a lot of different stuff. Most keepers feed bloodworms, brine shrimp, shrimp, pellets and silversides. When they get a bit bigger i like to add whole tilapia pieces to their diet. I usually fed twice a day for my baby rhoms. As they grow slow down the feedings. I also woul take a suction cup and line to dangle the food in the tank. I got a better feeding response then just dropping it in.

pH is prefered around 6.5-7 but the actual number isnt as important as that number staying constant.

75 for a 2-3cm rhom will probably be fine for life. There are few keeper that keep fish that long, and even ones that do rarely get too big for a 75.

Filtration should be geared toward bio as much as possible. Feedin meat is a huge bioload. For a 75 i recommend a solid cannister filter with lots of bio media, then a HOB is optional. Stuff the HOB with coarse sponge for mechanical filtration and surface disturbance.

My personal opinion on baby rhom care is constant water changes. Ive kept a few baby serras and the best growth i got was in a big tank with daily 10 gallon changes. Some guys will tell you that smaller tanks give better personality, but Ive had the opposite in my experiences.

Rhom care really is no different than pygo care. Scoop one up and get to it!

thanks mike i was really thinking about this lastnight and i think that its a good idea i cant go and get the rhom right now..acctualy not for a another week or two as im cycling the tank i got a couple of feeder guppies in the tank helping me with that also my cannisters are diy so its all bioligical and mechanical i aslo wanna get bog wood rocks and plants to create some caves and hiding places for the rhom, im realy exited about this :)

oh dont worry guys this is not the last piranha im getting my lfs get elongatus about 4 or 5 times per year so no need to worry :P but this time i think i am going with a rhom after i get my 600 gallon tank hopefully by the end of this year i might get a big shoal of cariba

oh and as for pics...dont worry ill get them as soon as i get him

guys my lfs has some rhoms out for sale and i want one, as some of you might know that i have a 75 gallon that im not using so i wanted to know what care should i take when buying a rhom of about 2-3cm , now the guy at my lfs told me to buy 3 or 4 and see wich one survives but i dont trust anyone selling me anything, so i came to the experts, now i would like to know how to take care of it (im not a bigginer fish keeper...but im no expert either) now i would like to know these things

what to feed
how much should i feed
how often
temp
ph
and any other advice would be nice

now i know some of you will tell me that i should start with some rbp but since the rhoms are so cheap...i thought i might aswell give it a try
ps: i know the 75 is to small for a full grown rhom but i also know that they grow very very very slow....enough time to upgrade

They can be finicky at that size, but as long as the water is good and it was u should be good. If it for some reason dies buy another.

. 5-1mm sinking or floating nls, bw and some flake food is a good start.

80–82 is a good temp and pH doesn't work exactly matter as long as it's stable.

They enjoy alot of bubbles and current, and keep the nitrates as low as possible! They also appreciate hiding spots so driftwood and plants are a good idea.

I got your PM and other questions just ask me
