After reading a few threads about faulty heaters lately and wiped out stock i thought i'd better upgrade my heaters as they're just basic ones that came with the set ups i have. The best heaters, it seems are the aqueon pro (come with a lifetime guarantee so they must be the dogs do dahs). Then i looked at the price and all i got from the wife was, "really, must you use that awful language in front of the children". Yeah i was shocked to say the least. £1199.....no, not for 50.....for ONE!!! Surely this cant be right. How much are they really? The eheim jager were next on the best list and they were sensibly priced but the 300W model is over 500mm long!! I want a heater that fits nicely in my sump, not a pole vault!!

Holy crud knuckles!!! That's a LOT of money for a heater... I thought things here were expensive (I pay $150AUD for a cheap 300W) but jebus! No where near as expensive as where you are apparently!

I don't know if that's normal or not coz I've never seen them in Tasmania, and prices here are ridiculous anyway.


I'm wondering, is this particular model the kind that's made of solid gold? Or the one that turns your aquarium water into molten gold? Because it'd want to do one of them for that price!

I've been looking at the small print to see if that price includes a 300g tank and stand and a load of other assorted goodies, nope, not a sausage, just one hell of an expensive heater. Somebody out there must know whether this is a typing error or something. Surely a heater cannot command a price like that, whether there's a lifetime guarantee, it's platinum or whatever.
