I'm still reading up about snakes... I really like the bright colored snakes... or the albinos... At least I like how they look.

I love the mellowness of the ball pythons though...My knowledge of species doesn't go far past ball python... are albino berm pythons good for a first time handler?
Burmese pythons get over 14 foot.

Really... really... boring to watch them feed. It is a sloooooooooooooooooooow process.

Most of us snake keepers keep our specimens in tubs, not in display cages except in main areas of the house like the living room or for display at a show and other events. It easier for us to maintain them and we can have as many as possible in a small area by stacking them or putting them on shelves or a unit called a rack.
I've got a ball and a corn, the corn is ina big tub thing an dthe ball in a viv and they are great like this. But eventually the corn will get the balls viv and the ball will get a new bigger viv.

Boa constrictor. Too bad the picture is too crappy to count see if he is a BCI (B. c. imperator) or a BCC (B. c. constrictor). I bet a dollar it is a BCI anyway. How big was he?

I loooooooooooove boa constrictors. Most of them are really mellow and usually only grumpy around shed and feeding time.

They are awesome snakes it's just there potential size (The bigger species anyways)

Yeah, it varies on the locale and the gender. Males stay small, while females are huge. Rarely they get over 8' and SOMETIMES 9'. 10' and 11' are not unheard of, but are reraaaaaaaaaaaally hard to find.

Next time I go out there I'll take some better pictures. My camera is only 3.1 megapixels so don't expect too great of quality. :)

No problem. I don't even HAVE a camera and my drawings SUCK. It is not necessary anyway since we already ID'd it as a Boa constrictor.

A friend of mine in Edmonton JUST got his first boa two weeks ago. Apparently he is a 5 years old beaut from the description and is about 5' long and 5 pounds. Now compare that to a Ball Python's weight of the same length and imagine the GIRTH!

It is really up to you. Ball Pythons are always sweet to have. Boa constrictors are niiiiceee, especially if you got a nice looking locale or artificial morph. Jungle Carpet Pythons are BEAUTIFUL with their bright yellow and black stripe contrast, although they are known to be nippy for the first few months before being a mellow docile animal. Dumeril's Boa are strikingly beautiful and pretty similar to Boa constrictor in temperament and people have recommend all of them for starter medium boids.

Can't go wrong with a Boa constrictor though. :D
