I think I'm done with the planted tank thing

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I wouldn't ever want to see a planted brother leave, just maybe switch to low tech? No equipment change, less ferts, lower the lighting, slow the CO2. Sure, you won't see crazy growth but it will be way less work. I have 2 modes for my tank: growing and staying. I add on some extra lights, hook up the CO2, and increase my ferts when I want to make the tank fill in after a big trim... and then I slowly dial it back to just enough for what the tank needs to stay healthy and grow slowly.

If you do decide to get out, and break up the set-up. I will buy your lights and co2 set up!

just have a break sell every thing except you biggets tank n have a re think 4 a few months then you will have the passion 4 it again

idk... you put alot of work and money into it. i say wait a week and see how you feel.

if it was me i would get rid of the large tank. i know thats not very monster of me but im sure doing water changes just on the 210 takes longer then all your other tanks combined. just keep your two easy ones. and the 55 that would cut your water change time in half. IMO

where are u if you r selling any tanks?

thanks for the input guys! yeah the 210g is the one that makes the WCs take a long time, but that is my baby! thats where all my favorite fish are. there's no way i could tear that down!!!! :(

i guess ill let sleep on the idea of downsizing for a few days. im sure ill change my mind. part of my reason for wanting to get rid of the planted tank is the plants in it. the HC and blyxa is driving me crazy!! the blyxa is always uprooting and floating up. and the HC is some damn delicate. if i so much as look at it funny strands will start to float around :irked:

be on the lookout for a planted tank equipment firesale, maybe :D
