IM NOT GOING TO LIE ANYMORE!!!

Guys I have a serious ADDICTION.....
ITS FISH KEEPING!!!!

I don't know what to do about it...it just keeps growing and growing and growing...at this rate Im going to need the ocean in my house in a year. I've always wanted to keep fish but never had the time or the means. Now that I do it's taking over. I started fish keeping several months ago, started with a 10 gallon, no way thats even close to big enough, then it was a 30 gallon, still not big enough...now its a 90 gallon, for me its a MONSTER. I know some guys got the 50,000 gallon and whatever but lets be serious, Im in University so my tank is a MONSTER.
My girlfriend is tired of talking to me because I always have something to say or an idea about the new tank. I want to go to the LFS every other day just to see if there is something cool I have to get. I feel like Will Ferrel in Old School when he's in Olive Garden talking about girls underwear. How he doesn't want to miss out on something cool he's never seen before.
My girlfriend doesn't get it and has just given up on me with the fish.

IS ANYONE ELSE ADDICTED??? Please let me know I'm not alone!

P.S. I plan on posting some pics soon as I need help with a few ID's

:screwy:..............it hit you good in the begin but then you realize u have to control it. o and the girlfriend part... i know all about it. were not to together no more but i remember she use to tell me " you only care about your stupid fish" she also gave on me.

Save your money and stop buying small tanks. I have had 14 tanks running at once. ranging from 10gals to 300gals. 800gals is my goal. I slowed down buying fish to just the fish i want to dedicate my time and effort to (C.R.E.A.M). And not just buying on impulse buying. I have been there. I shut down all but 5 tanks. My 3x180gal, 1x125gal, and 1x90gal. mostly all cichla tanks and grow out cichla tanks.

Definitely addicted. A few years ago I never really thought of fish as having personality. I thought they were just pretty things people put in their living room. Then I went over to my friend's house who had a 50 gallon tank with a marbled goby, firemouth, convict, and some others and watched him feed them feeders and I was hooked. I bought my first tank, a 29 gallon, a week later and rotated through fish like crazy learning the ins and outs of the hobby. Now I have a 50 gallon and my old 29 and it's just not enough. In college on a limited budget I'll have to settle for now but I swear I'll have a 500 or bigger built into the wall in my living room when I graduate. I swear it!

Edit: Oh, and yes I am very addicted!

I'm walkin that same path right now...on my 10 gallon right now and already thinking about going to a 30. cant find enough room for anything bigger than that right now...

Im thankful my girl hasn't left me. Im pretty sure she wont leave me over the fish issue. Were pretty solid but man that sucks to here yours left you leopio, not saying cause of the fish even if it was...just sucks.
Yeah when I noticed I didn't have money to go out drinking I was like whoaaa wait a minute...something isn't right...then I go back and look at my bank account and its like oh yeah I did spend some money...*&$%...lol
But yeah Im starting to think about what I really want in the tank and what I will enjoy. I know I was predators but I don't want them to go after each other.
I love Puffers but then I can't have anything else in the tank...so Im kinda stuck at the moment as to what to house....
Any ideas?

she left for other reason. i just remember her whining about it all the time. In the begin you get a fish and within a week or two you want something different then you realize its getting expensive buy new fish

I too have a sever addiction.
im one year into the hobby and was also always wanting a fish tank. so i finally moved out and bought a new 55g. cost me $500....but best $500 ive spent so far. i became very addicted to the hobby and cichlids especially. i never knew so many species and colors existed in freshwater. so now its been a year and i now have several tanks running and im still wanting more! seems neverending but, thanks to the girlfriend.... i got to stop.....so now im just waiting for christmas to see if i can get a 90g present! under the tree.

Nope, your definitely not alone here on this forum buddy. I think Most of us here are severely addicted or has been in that stage once before but now has learned how to control it... somewhat.. lol. And others just have no more money cause they have spent it all in this fantastic hobby... so they just have to be content with what they have for now...hahaha. Oh, and you may or may not already know.... once your into this hobby... theres no way of getting rid of it, meaning if you ever decide to take a break and not keep fish anymore... somehow, someway, someday you WILL get back into it! :naughty:

Dont worry thats why we are all here hang in there.
