So I spend quite a bit of time at pet stores (one in peticular). I love the reptiles area. I was looking around and asked if I could handle the crested gecko. I fell in love!I went around the store for an hour and a half checking prices and making a supply list. I compared the pricing to the price of a mangrove monitor:
Crested: $110 for lizard, $320 for supplies
Mangrove: $430 for lizard, $270 for supplies
The mangrove supplies includes a harness and leash for outside purposes (stupid edmonton laws) whereas the crested supplies includes a front opening 30 gallon tall vivarium.
I'd be using a fogger to keep the humidity up and using a digital wall thermometer for temps. I have vine/log/plant selections down, bedding, 2 clamp lamps per lizard, 3 bulbs per lizard (one night, 1 uvb,1 day time), water conditioner, liquid calcium and d3 supplement/water conditioners, pre-made crested gecko food (he's only 2 months old) paired with mashed fruits and veggies/meats (home-made baby food
).
I've looked into everything on cresteds and mangroves....my only question.....which should I get first?(I'll definitely have both, it's just a matter of who first
