You guys are getting hung up on the lights, which it is not the issue. The aro has injured itself, it needs to be by itself in a dim well aerated tank. I would add a table spoon of salt per 5 gallon of water. With temp at about 82-84 dgrees. It will either heal or die.
my fault i thought it was established that it was injured... i was only making reference to the light for after it was healed. and gradual light reintroduction during the healing process. i should never assume!

arowanas are sight hunters, its everything to do with the lighting, damage included. left alone with no food for 2 weeks AND not being able to see the aro probably got restless (maybe even a little crazy) and could have darted or jumped in an attempt to escape its scenario resulting in injury. (if he did have food he wouldn't be able to locate it anyway since they feed during the day. they aren't bats nor are they psychic)
in the video he provided i am REALLY wondering why the room is so dark in the first place. and if its a basement then its merely poor circumstances or perhaps a poor choice of location for the setup.
did you have any automatic feeders for them during the 2 weeks you were away? also, next time you should always have your aquarium lights hooked up to a timer system to replicate day and night. fish should at least be put in a room with open windows to begin with.. being in the dark so long nearly blinded the fish in itself. i can only imagine how dilated the pupils were and then 2 weeks later, all of a sudden you come home and flash that light on. silver arowana eyes are notoriously delicate as it is.
your aro looks small still. even in perspective to your distance on video. i hope you have a small tank to remove it immediately into a room that gets daylight...
