So after two weeks of searching, I finaly found my SD retic behind the tv. It was cold, skinny and had it's mouth open. Now that it's in her cage, she is sitting in her water bowl with her mouth open.

To cure R.I. without the help of a vet, all I need to do is dry out the cage rigth?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Put her on newspaper or paper towel and bumb up temps. A good way of knowing for sure it is an RI is opening her mouth up, and if you see stringy mucos looking stuff it is an RI.You may need to go to the vet were they probably will give you baytril.

^ Agreed with this, I cured one in a water monitor this way, cranked up the temps and he fought it off.

she may need some antibiotics but drying her out and heating her up is a good place to start.

do u hear any weezing, or clicking... and no u do not need a stethoscope to hear it. its noticable

I would take her to a vet, respiratory infections are not something you want to mess with or take any chances

I agree and disagree. The vet can add extra stress. I would wait just a few days of putting her under heat and drying the cage out. No reason to waiste $150.00 (what my vet would charge) at the vet if there is no problem. But if the RI is bad enough the vet is the only option.
