I think this might be first for most of you!!

well after hearing my replies heres my hypothesis....... EITHER since its in the garage and light shines in, its either that the sun light is making them do this.

OR my floors level and im slated lol

but its probably the first one.

Garages aren't meant to be leveled. If your garage flooded out then the water would stay put, bit since it's angled, the water would flow out. In any case, I don't think that your fish are swimming because it's angled.

arent there going to be problems if your tank is a little sloped (like wont it crack eventually?)? that's what i've always heard, but i can never get my 100 gal to be 100% level...

never heard that one befor . level the tank and see what the fish do . maybe pain in the ass but worth it just to see what happens with the fish .

After reading this thread I decided to do a little test.

I took a small tank and turned it upside down, thinking the fish would then swim upside down. But to my surprise they all jumped out of the tank and just flopped around on the ground:screwy:

Yea dude you tell em! Think of this: Your subsrate might not be level though your tank is, fish are generally swimming level. I say it's lights or sun light.

You beat me to it...I was going to mention that my upside down catfish didn't know what to do...

I didn't think about them "jumping out" and flopping around. :grinno:

I have a goldfish tank that gets light through the side sometimes, if the tank light isn't on to provide them with an "up" direction they swim almost 90* tilted towards the sideways light.

Scared me the first time i saw it!
