There needs to be more in depth breeding of some exotics like Plecos on a larger scale to help support the aquarium hobby without relying on wild caught as much & to reduce cost to obtain them.

i know a guy who got a wholesale license or whatever you wanna call it, just so he could get the animals at low prices. but his was reptiles only. and he was getting frilled dragons and chinese high crested(its a rare morph) water dragons for like 50$ they are like 180$ for a regular person to buy. he would sell some, but keep some too.
All I know is that I support all the mom and pop stores even though I could buy cheaper on line or at the chain stores. But the mom and pop stores have the cool fish that the chain stores would never have. Also my mom and pop stores will order the rarer fish and take the brunt if it is sick or dead. If I order livestock online then its my promblem.
I have known a couple people to get a ven license for that purpose or use someone elses for another type of business BUT get caught & that savings will not compare to penalties etc.. with Uncle Sam etc. fed, state, & local can & will come down hard on these fronts or no legit business etc.. especially when the gov needs more money then ever they will want to collect.

i buy from a wholesaler in ohio, and all that he asks is that i buy a minimum of 200$ worth of stuff per order. Sometimes it isn't easy to do either, with his prices i could fill 3-4 large tanks with that,lol
