I have five dats, ranging from 1.5 to 4.5". The only time there is any real aggression is when I feed krill. Otherwise occasionally I'll see the 2" indo chasing with a 2.5" distichodus but that seems more like play. They dart across the tank taking turns chasing one another. No real nips that tear fins or anything like that. But before he turned unstable from getting picked on by a GT, the biggest one, an AT, used to chase other fish around and pick on them sometimes.
I change my decor a lot though... force of habit from keeping african cichlids. So I usually don't have any severe issues, since the adjustment to new territories seems to calm them down.
