Help! I though my little dudes mouth was big enough but now the pellet is in his mouth and seems to be stuck. Can an Oscar choke? How can I help him?

As long as its not in for more than a couple hours he should be fine. They are real piggies when they are little and try to eat thing to big for them. If he can't eat it or spit it out you might need to help. As he pellet sits in the water it will get soggier and easily crushable.

I don't think it will be a problem, Mine often eats way more than it can fit into its mouth then sits there with the food sticking out until he chews some of it up. Most of which ends up coming out of his gills. Messy eaters, but I don't it will choke.

It's stuck INSIDE of his mouth and he seems to be breathing heavy.

Yeah its should dissolve and he should spit it out.

If you see him start to struggle for air at the surface or acting funny, because it will restrict his gill action, Then your going to have to catch him and manually remove it so he doesnt suffocate.
Because with pellets that are too big like that, Fish can choke.

lol i love oscars-they are such drama queens. id recommend you just break his pellets in half for a week or so-then he wont be tempted to inhale it.
