i want a bichir what kind should i get

There looks to be a couple that stay around 13-14" from the primer. You could try those out. But the senegal definitely is the most active and the most fun, I think.

Senegals are great starter bichirs, and to a degree so are delhezis. In-expensive, commonly available, etc...

They help you learn the typical habits of bichirs, different behaviors, and what to feed them.

Unless, you've already done thorough research into this, and decide to go for a more exotic small bichir such as polli, mokelembembe, or buettikoferi etc...
