I want a bubble wall.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
^ thats what I use as well in my 65g, I got the 36" version so it could span across the back of my whole tank. It works pretty well.

The only problem I have with burying a bubble wall is that it changes from the dense wall of small bubbles to a sparse wall of large bubbles, and I don't like that. I have mine laying just across the top of my sand it terminates under my driftwood root-cave...turns out there's a tiny hole through the driftwood where air collects and releases large bubbles....its pretty sweet:grinno:

use bubble gum, seals anything right up

Some strange humor here Kevin. Since when did you ever use bubble gum to seal anything in or on your tanks? Especially a DIY bubble wand? I've heard of some crazy things on MFK, but this one . . .:ROFL::ROFL: . . . it's just hysterical, Kevin!

Bubble wand, Bubble gum. Theory seems sound to me.

Thinking about it seriously, though is hysterical. Especially coming from Kevin!:ROFL::ROFL:

i once used bubble gum and the foil wrapper to fix my cd player while on a "family vacation" lol. used the foil to reconnect two points. but i dont think its water proof :grinno:

those bubble walls that were posted in image form earlier- they sell them at wal-mart.

I have two 18" ones in my 55.... cost me like $4 each. Buried under the gravel, they work really slick. They have such fine little bubbles and work awesome, though they cause massive spray at the top to the underside of my hood lol

I was going to say the same thing. I have one in my 55g and it is exactly how I want it to be. Much easier to deal with than making one yourself and probably cheaper in the long run, too.

^ forgot I have one of those as well in my 20g. Works fine. I have it just above the sand on the side wall. Got it with the intentions of using a bubble wall to keep the fish in the 20 from seeing the fish in the 65 right next to them...they're always attacking eachother through the glass & I think its just undue stress particularly on the breeding convicts.

It didn't work, looks like I'll be painting that side of the tank as well. But the bubble wall is great regardless;)
