i want a datnoid

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I beg to differ, my NTT has nearly tripled in size in less than a year, he was 2" when I got him and now he's 6", and my AT has also put on a good 2-3" in 7-8 months. They're growth rate is similar to a lot of other fish, they grow relatively quickly until a sub-adult size and then their growth drastically decreases. I can understand when a adult datnoid grows only 1" per year, but when you have a juvenile their growth rate should be considerably more...

I want some Datnoids too but I can not seem to find any here around OH. Know any distributors that have Dats?

of course, there are always variables, but 1-2"/yr is pretty common. im sure there are reports all over the forum about it.
I've also heard that the growth rate on Dats is pretty slow, and 1-2" per year is a number I hear a lot, but I find it hard to believe that if you buy a 1" Dat that eats relatively well and kept in a adequately sized tank, in a year it will most likely only be 2-3".
