Hi.

I think I need a reptile, but not sure what to choose. I think it has t be a gecko or a skink. What Is your suggestion. It can't be too big, about 14" . I really like the Tokaygecko, but not sure because of the aggresion level. It would be nice to have a tame reptil, like a small dog.

A friend of my is going to buy leopard geckos, so I think im going to try something else, even tough I know that is a good choice for a beginner like me.

Do reptiles poop, crap alot, do I have to clean the cage everyday? Can't find any info on the caresheets :) :)

Well you dont need a reptiles, it isnt assential for life so its a want. If you want something you can "hold" get a leopard gecko would do. All the arboreal geckos have sensitive skin and should not be held, and most are mean. As for a skink, Blue tongues are great but you say their to big for you. Remeber, this is a reptile, it wont come to you when you call it, a dog will but these wont. Yes you need to clean them every time the poop and yes they do. It depends on what type of animal you get.

Hehe. "need", "want". You know what I mean.
Relax, Im going to find more info on the reptile when i deside what to buy, as I sad, i'm a beginner.
And the dog part, that was just to set an excessively exsample, I know the differense.

Anyway thanks!

Do a big search into all the gecko species (at least the ones available in the pet trade) there are a lot to choose from, and you may find something more interesting or something that suits you better than the leopards and tokays. That being said i always quite liked the rhacs.

Id get a baby tokay and tame it out

HAHAHA , been there ,good luck there very easy to get angry regardless if u hand raised them from babyf. anyways try a fat tailed, leopard or any of the beginner species. Btw they would poop at least once a day but its no biggie. easy to clean .

Why does it have to be a gecko or a skink? There are some nice snakes that you could keep in the same size cage you'd have to have for a leopard gecko.
