Milky Way Galaxy,
hey guys could i put this type of stingray in a 55gallon, no rocks just sand. Ill post dimensions soon... if not here in Cali (Orange County) my LFS always has these little stingrays about big as ur hand and he says there native here could i put 2 in if i cannont keep this guy^? i have seen these before but i forget what there name is its Blue something.

ray in a 55. short answer. no.

It's a Blue-Spotted stingray, and no, there's no way you could keep one in a 55 gallon. In fact (sorry to be a downer), no rays will work in a 55 gallon tank.

Additionally they are not even remotely native. The smallest native rays you will find are yellow rays, and they require sub-70 degree water - closer to 60 degrees, nor could they come close to fitting in 55 gallon tank.

Your LFS is trying to make money, not do right by the ray. Think minimum 180 gallon for a single specimen for life. They might not reach a foot at that LFS because they DIE.

its 5x2.5x2 i wont put a ray in. Any of the rubbermaid things a 180 gallons? and what the minimum of gallons to keep the Blue Spotted Stingray.

Wait, arent rays illegal in california??
