Don't forget that they are capable of doing a death roll. My 18" ropes would grabbed a 4-4.5" feeders goldfish and rip it off till they get a chuck of meat. However my larger bichirs would sometimes steal it.

i keep 2 ropes currently they do grown super freaking slow i have had some bad experience with them, before you buy the rope make sure they have been eating at the lfs they are some times passive eaters till they warm up to the tank

Thanks I didn't know that ropefish can do that.
Try to get more than one and put a fish fillet or whole prawn. You will get to see them do a death roll. Bichirs does the same thing too, but not too often.
